CPSAC Technician Training – Cambridge – April 8th – 10th

The Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC) is offering a certification course in Cambridge, Ontario on April 8-10th, 2016.
In this course you will learn about the mechanics of a collision, the legislation governing child restraints, and the different stages of child restraint systems and how they work. The course will include hands-on practice so that you will feel comfortable with different methods of installation, as well as guidance on how to help parents and caregivers select and use car seats and booster seats correctly.
The course takes place at the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Children’s Safety Village. The hours are:
Friday April 8, 2016 5-9pm
Saturday April 9, 2016 9am-5pm
Sunday April 10, 2016 9am-6pm
Full attendance is required. A community seat check clinic is included in the Sunday hours. It is a mandatory portion of the course and part of the skills assessment for CPST candidates.
The cost is $180, and includes registration with CPSAC, 3 year certification as a CPST (annual requirements must be met), liability insurance when acting as a volunteer, and all course materials, including technician manual and clinic supplies.
